Default I still got it (pics)

Last year, my boat was running fine. Came around a curve and had to shut it down fast. When I eased back on the gas, it made a clank and shut down. I'm just now getting around to working on it but here's some pics.

When I got home I looked and looked and this is all I could see

here's my coonass ingen..... Thinking!!

when I saw this, I knew it was gonna be fun

bad!!

ummm. This isn't supposed to be here

yea, this is all supposed to be one piece for all practical purposes

it's hard to see, but I manages to crack a main cap. A new personal best!

best I can tell, somehow the valve seat failed causing all the damage. The engine looked great other than the obvious. Still had cross hatching in the cylinders!!

and the replacement mill

OUCH! Thats some carnage!

Were you turning 9500rpms ? LOL.

That sucks, but looks like you got a god reliable 350 to put in! That oughta run good.

Ive used a tree before, sometimes you gotta do what it takes!

Good luck.

Nope. Bout 1500 lol

Was running about 3000 I guess, turned a curve, shut it down to idle, and it died, tried to crank it back up, and had trouble. Finally got it to start, and it made some horrific sounds then shut itself down

gotta be easier than from a road vehicle, biggest challenge looks to be that a standard engine lift won't pull it out.

yea but most of us has pulled 4 5 6 even 15 to 20 motors out of our trucks that makes it real easy.
