SS Exhaust Question
#1
Just wondering from you guys how your exhaust was run----Factory? I know that you have a dual in muffler----dual pipes from the cats back, correct? How is your y-Pipe, or what would be our y-pipe from the cats to the interediate pipe that runs to the mufflers. Anyone with any pics? I was wondering if your y-pipe was seperate? I am running true duals, but thinking about a complete exhaust change. I had my stock y-pipe split into 2 sections, but I want to have flanged sections there---for ease of removing the trans that will one day be enivetable. Was wondering if a stock SS y-pipe would fit the bill and if anyone had a stock unit laying around?

Well, lets just say that I am keeping my options open. Actually have been doing some research. I am going to take to Allens dyno before I do anything and have a little troubleshooting done, check the A/F. But I've also had a bit of a revelation if you will. I have been running for the last few day with the exhaust cutouts capped up, sucks cause the truck is quet as hell, but I have not noticed the truck surging/jerking and the miss seems like its not happening near as much. Don't know how the hell the cutouts could have an effect like this, but I'm not discounting anything at this point. There are a few other things that I am going to try for a few of the other problems, but I am looking at wanting to completely re-do the exhaust, and use SS Silverado components. I need the flanged ends in case I ever need to drop the tranny again. Plus, I test drove some other trucks this weekend, and, Ehhh, they did nothing for me. I will still be selling a few of my current parts though, a little bit of a transformation, but nothing too major.

Yeah, well thats what I meant. I'm sure its basically what mine does now, but aren't the ones for the SS's flangend at the cats and then again where the exhaust pipes lead back?
