Default Drive By Wire 5.3 Auto RST?

The Drive By Throttle that is on my 05' RST is a pain in the butt! Is there a type of tune that will override the delay or make it respond like cables do? Also, what would be the best choice for gears on my 5.3 4l60?

i believe all the tunes have the ability to adjust that...not positive on that though...what gears ya got now? what are you looking to get out of the gears....it's somewhat of a question with a rather broad spectrum of answers like asking whats the best cam or supercharger for my truck...can't be answered without background info

NICE TRUCK THOUGH!!

well, as far as gears man, i want to get much better bottom end out of my truck. I heard that 410's were good for that. Is it difficult to change gears and put a locker in?

i dont wanna say that yer wrong, but are you sure its an 05?,and not an 06 by any chance? or you may have just got unlucky..04+ had the drive by wire. but the 04/05's seem to have the same respond time as a cable, 06+ seem to have a really really bad delay/opening time.. as far as that goes, i heard you hard to change the Throttle body,TCM,and pedal and maybe something else...but i also heard HPtuners is workin on a fix for it.

Hate to break it to you, but as of now I am not aware of any way to adjust the drive by wire. Its the only thing that sucks about the new trucks. The only thing i heard that helps is by turning off the torque managment system in the trucks computer and that calls for a custom tune. As far as gears, if you have never done them before I would let a shop do it because if you don't install them just right, you will be replacing them again shortly after. But as far as a gear set 4.10's should do just fine for giving you some extra pick up.

I'm not too sure but I also heard that you can just swap out ur rear end with a wrecked vortec max one. Its a 12 bolt 9.5 inch with 4.10's allready. But not sure witch is cheaper?

there are other areas of the tune that will help with the throttle response. one of them is burst knock. it kills the take off in these vehilces. you would have to have someone with ls1edit or hptuners tune your truck. if you turn off all the toque management on the motor only and adjusted the burst knock and the other knock sensor settings you should be pretty happy with your truck. the 4.10 gears with a locker of some sort (im partial to the detroit true trac) will make a big difference with the truck bein on 20's.

cool man, one of my teachers from college has the hptuners program. Do you know of a good place to get 410's?
