Question About Color Matching
#1
On the NNBS trucks, for those of you who have colormatched pieces, did the shop just paint & primer your stockers or did you/they order new pieces?
The body shop I called wanted like $800 just for 4 door handles and 2 mirrors ... and Im pretty sure that was a quote on just the parts.
Ive never had pieces colormatched before, but I was just assuming they would pull off my stockers, prep, and then paint them...?

Sounds like they dont want to do it....Not sure about the newer trucks but the GMT800s could get factory colormatched pieces because they were stock on other vehicles. Good example is the door handles from a denali or escalade were colormatched.

Hell the mirrors and door handles on ls and lt tahoes and suburbans were color matched.... Along with the top plastic piece on the bumper on some of them... Thought about getting the bumper off a burb/hoe for my silverado...

Try taking it or calling an auto paint place and ask them if you bring in the parts how much to spray them. Probably your cheapest option. Quality/Price varies greatly but you get what you pay for typically. I would charge anywhere from $100-$500 depending on quality of materials.

I did this. The factory colormatched plastic pieces won't chip as easily as painted plastics, either.
