Default Project "Slow & Steady"

This is my first build thread on anything, but bare with me I am out of town a lot so it may be a slow progress. But, I will try to get a lot of pictures of the work when I actually do get to work on the truck. So.... I got my truck in November and have a lot plans for it. I have gone through a couple '67 C10s and drag quads. But this body is my first style of truck and I just wanted another one. Only crappy thing is I travel for work and gone 4 weeks at a time and only usually home for 3-4 days.

I want the truck to be streetable but still on the verge of "too much" for the street. But who doesn't? It currently is a base model truck with a 6.0 with a cam and a "built" 4L60 according to the PO and lowered 2/4. I think I am going to put some nitrous on the motor but ultimately plan to get a turbo kit. But that may be quiet a bit little later down the road.... I also need to get the truck re-tuned.

But more importantly since I have bought the truck I have purchased E-Fans and harness from blackbear, Power window/door lock kits, new door panels, 2" drop coils, C-notch for the rear, new beltech street shocks(I believe), New black anegel eyes headlights and LED turnsignals, Escalade door handles, escalade cluster with LED swap, HD hood, HD grille, HD bumper, paint match bumpers front and rear, complete suspension rebuild kit, SRD Assassin traction bars, M&H 325/45/17 Drag radials, I cant remember the size of the fronts I got lol, and some Bogart 17x7 front and 17x10 rear Eliminators.

I am still waiting on Rich to finish and ship the wheels but other than those everything else is sitting in my garage in their boxes. I am going to try and get everything put on when I get back in town. BUT the real reason I am posting is to get some ideas/opinions from you guys. I have been trolling a lot lately and there are too many setups on here to choose from. I am unsure how I want to go from here.

Ok, now that that is out of the way I have a few questions.

What are some good LED tail lights?
What type of exhaust are you guys running?
What do y'all think about bed covers? I am not sold on them yet.
I need to also get a list of LEDs to order all my interior lights.
Are underdrive pulleys worth buying?

Is there anything else I am missing or over-looking?

Tonneau wise, I would do a roll and lock style or soft. No fiberglass. Keeps your **** dry and you have a real bed quickly. Not a big led fan, but I could point out some decent ones if I knew what year your truck is. Post some pics mane.
Edit-based on your parts list, it's a 99-02 Chevy? I have esky handles and like them. Careless passengers scratch colormatched handle pulls.

I didn't even think about the roll-up cover. I like that idea. I really want to swap to a stepside bed... These are all the pics I have right now. Haven't had a chance to get any yet!

I like step sides. You're off to a great start. Personally, I like the hd hood with a light duty grill and bumper.

Well, the truck has escalated pretty quickly. I went from just keeping the 6.0 in it to get a 408 and 4L80 with an FTI 3600 stall. I have done quite a few things to it, so I will post a few pics up and show you the current status.

This is how the truck sits now. I need to get the hood and Z71 Tahoe valance painted.

I just finished re-doing the harness to go behind the motor and up under the intake. Which was not very fun to say the least. Took me about 12 hours start to finish.

I am missing some wire loom for the Firewall area, nobody around me carried 1 1/4" loom, so I had to order some. The intake and accessory brackets are all off at the powder coaters. Ordered the billet manual tensioner, billet power steering pulley, and billet idlers. Also, brand new power steering pump and a new 145 amp alternator for the E-fans.

I will get some pics when I install the assassin traction bars. I will have to cut 3/4" of an inch off the leaf spring to get them to fit center.

I am sure I am forgetting some stuff but, I will try to get as many pics as I can when I finish it up.

What compression and heads did you go with for the 408?

They are the LSA heads and 10.5:1 compression. I will more than likely be milling them when I get the nitrous stuff.

So you decided the nitrous route and not the turbo?

Should be stout on a 300 shot!
