Default Painted smooth tailgate

Finally finished my tailgate. Sir Mikes handle kit moved to the inside. Please excuse the roll pan. just kinda filled in the gaps for now and welded it in. too many projects right now. The tailgate turned out almost perfect though! i will be putting the upper pad on it is why i left the 4 nut plate things on it.

Me likey.

1st pic I saw some white in center, then I saw it was only a reflection from your camera. Are u gonna do 1 of them low profile wraparound tailgate caps?
Get rid of orange peel when it's safe to wet sand & it'll look (.)(.) Even more so. Can't wait to see pan done.

I sooo wanna do a tailgate handle flip. And would love a rollpan. I might even do a pan when I start doin cosmetics, but my concern is if I get tapped from behind by some inattentive texting or on cell. I might have an idea to help w/. that tho.

at first i was wondering what the holes in the tailgate were for. a hidden hitch is a great way to protect a roll pan/tailgate IMO. my hitch saved mine when i got hit.
looks good man it'll look great when everything is sanded and painted.

by the way. how do you like that LED 3rd brake light?

Love the 3rd and tails. dont have a picture of them on. but they are bright as hell. the reason the roll pan looks like it doesnt meet up right at the bottoms is b/c the old man that had the truck before me scraped it down both sides of his garage so i've got lots of work to make it look right.

Looks good. I have thought about doing that sometime. It's on the long list of things to do. :-)
