lift or no lift? that is the question!

Im tossing around the idea of removing my leveling kit, selling my 17's and 295/70's and going stock or slightly lowered height with my ss 20's. Main reason being that i heard 4x4 launches in a lifted truck tend to break stuff and i dont want that. so jw what your opinions are.

4x4 launches with a power adder and gobs of torque is when the problems happen. A FBO 5.3 shouldn't really have any issues that tie rod sleeves and some front end straps couldn't keep under control.
I think your truck looks better in the top pic personally. Just my personal opinion though. I don't like the SSS wheels on any truck that has fender flares. Doesn't look right to me.

I like the top pic better. I loved lowered trucks but lifted 4x4 is prefered.
If you are planning to make a performance machine out of your truck then lowering and turboing would be your best bet. If your only concern is braking parts then you don't have anything to worry about.

yeah i agree with you guys, chrome it is! i probably wont even do 4x4 launches unless i take it to the track for fun. And if i ever were to get serious about a turbo set up then it probably wouldnt be for a long time.Im curious on how much those straps and sleves are?

yeah there are a couple lifted trucks on 33's with a 6 inch lift running 6.0's and prochargers. usernames slip my mind but they used limiter chains.
side note, just thinking here, you would figure if a lifted truck plans on going for a lot more power and launching in 4wd, running a stock stall converter would help it from the lurching and breaking off the line. but thats just my thoughts because the new trucks can switch out of 4wd before they are out of 1st gear being electronic vs. manual transfer case.
