Default Largest tires-HD

I think the threads here have answered my question, but would like to be sure before I buy. On an 03 2500HD 4x4, what are the largest tires I can get on the stock 16x6.5 alum. wheels? I'm thinking 285's but would love to go to 305's if they would fit without rubbing.

Get some 23" wheels, have the lip milled 1/4" then run 22.5" semi tires and a big lift

The 285 is a 33x11.5 tire and the 305 is a 33x12.5 tire which needs a wider wheel. Really no reason to go with the 305. The 285's will work fine on the 6.5" wheels as long as your not planning on alot of heavy towing.

Low2000 you mean like this truck!

i have a buddy with 305's on his stock rims. they don't rub, but they'd look better on wider rims. his truck is an 01', but i don't think it matters

285/75/16 or a 315/70/16 will work great. You can haul and tow what you want with them. Just have to adjust your air pressures accordingly.

1BAD did you mean 305's or 315's on the stock rims? 315's ain't gonna clear even on stockers will they?

Oops I meant 305's. BUT...if you wanna crank and add a 2" block in the rear. 315's will fit and do clear on stock wheels. But, I dont reccomend that. To much buldge in the sidewall.

P.S. Whre are from up in STL 03GMC? I like about 50 miles South of you. But I am up that way all the time.

Just across the JB Bridge in Waterloo, IL. I work in the So. St. Louis/So. County area. Just up 55. Didn't I see you were from around Farmington or something?
