HELP Shaving roll pan
Has anyone that has shaved their roll pan spot welded it from the back of the bed instead of having the spot weld visible to the eye if your standing at the back of the truck. i know its not going to matter after i do the body work just curious if anyone has done this before. Im also going to have to do some fiberglass work to get the bed even all the way down to the roll pan. Let me know what you think and any pictures would be much appreciated.

You want to weld it full on the finish side and metal finish it down to smooth metal. You don't just spot weld it, then fill the crack.
Also you don't want to put fiberglass on it, metal and fiberglass have different expanding and contracting characteristics. Unless you're talking about kitty hair filler. But you still need to fully weld and metal finish it for good results.

Just showing one side, but you get the idear
Fill it as best you can with weld, grind it down as smooth as you can.. Then fill with heavy glass the green stuff(marglas) sand and block the hell out of it, then skim it again with a lighter glass.. Repeat, untill it is flat.. A few pics of mine(before it got HIT AGAIN ) Basically by the time it is finished there is hardly any glass in the area.. You will never get the metal perfect, so some glass needs to stay..
