HD cowl hood

what are the dis-advantages about fiberglassing a cowl on your stock hood????

thanks....

does anyone know what the flipper hood cost???

if you just 'glass one on then it will more than likely look cheap unless you have a body shop do it. and it wont be funtional at all... it would be just like getting one of those gay *** stick on hood scoops you see guys with on their retard-mobiles.... they arent good for anything.

-as for the flipper cowl hood.. I have seen them ship for around 800 or so... if anyone else sees them cheaper, please chime in... I wouldnt mind geting one. They hook into a vacuum line anywhere on your intake and use the vacuum to actuate a diaphragm to open the flipper on the hood. The old Chevelle SS's had them and they were used to draw in fresh air using the opening flipper and the ambient pressure generated at the base of the windshield and cowl area to feed their massive rat, the LS6 454. Nowadays they are more for looks and authenticity than function. but it still would be super cool to hit the gas and see your hood open up from your seat... Definitely bad ***.

when I say fiblerglassing, I do mean by having a body shop mold it in right so could look good....

Theres 2 trucks around here with HD cowl hoods... UGLY AS HELL.

Yeah but by the time you pay them for labor and buying the scoop and paint and all that you could have just got yourself a steel goodmark and had it painted and be back on the road.
