i drilled 2'' hole in the cluster fore an auto meter trans temp gauge, but in order to let the gauge go deep enough i have to drill though the electrical panel board and there is some wires there that will be cut off.i see some on this site have done the install ,any help would be great.i don't want to ruin my cluster.01 gmc ecsb 4x4.dash is out and i'd like to put it back together.

I cut enough to clear the connections and bulb socket, but left enough for the hold down nuts.

Theres more threads in here for the auto trans temp guage.
If your running aftermarket, theres also a thread down below in the list, which a member retrofitted it, and tells how he did it.
Theres also the pay to play over at US speedo...150 to put in a factory one, and reprogram the cluster.

This here tells you of the dimensions: 2 1/16 dimensions
Do you have a picture of the connectors (resistors) you are talking about?
