sorry my gauge is the electric one. not the mechanical one.
there is a hole on the side of the trans that has a plug in it. you remove the plug and put in the adapter with the temp sensor in its place(comes with the gauge). you run a single wire down to it and hook it up to the sensor.
when you buy the Auto meter gauge part number 4357(i will double check to make sure)
it comes with the instructions on how to wire the gauge.
and yes the gauge is a 2-1/16
dont worry about asking all the questions. i dont mind answering.
and yes xXxsilveradoxXx the escalade cluster is very clean looking, but i couldnt afford to purchase one at the moment, and it was suggested that i get a trans temp gauge to monitor the temps to make sure i was not over heating the trans. after my rebuild.
so i went the cheaper route, and did it myself. still looks very clean. if you didnt know you would swear it came from the factory that way

Thanks Thunder that's what I needed to know. I don't like the Escalade dash and the $300.00 price tag and dealer to update mileage plus mines a 99' and the SES will be on from what I've read. I like the looks of the guage install and for less than a $100.00 that's not bad. Look's like a guage install to me. Thanks again.
