Default new to me 02 rcsb

Hey Guys this is my first Post and I could use a little direction. I looked a long time for a black 2wd shortbed with a 5.3. I finally found one, I liked and could afford. Now that I have one there is a few things id like to do to it, but unfortunately I don't know a lot about these trucks, and what modifications are out there and what newer parts interchange with it. So far iv put in a new sound system, and added sound deadening in the doors and floor. I did purchase a set of 20" wheels but have not installed them yet. I would like to lower truck but not sure how much to go, or what would work best for a daily driver. The truck looks to be lower than some other trucks I see but not what stock height is suppose to be. I would also like to improve engine performance. I use to have a 5.3L grand prix GXP that car was a blast to drive I would like this truck to be equal or better than that. maybe with headers, exhausts system, and cam swap and a good tune but again I dont know what is out there and what is right for my application. any insight or info would be most appropriated.

You can easily get away with bolt ons, gears, a good posi, and a tune for a DD, I DD my cammed 4.8 with 4.56s and love my truck. I just did a 2/4 drop on mine.

A local guy had me tune his 2002 5.3 RCSB 2WD truck, very similar to yours...cold air intake, small cam, longtubes and exhaust and a 2500-2600 stall...the truck is a BLAST. I don't even know what it made for power...just street tuned it to hit 12.8:1 with 24 degrees of timing and then fixed driveability...but man that thing is fun, he loves it.
