Default Can't find 345" tires.

I'm having my 20" rims widened to either 10 inches or 10.5 inches depending on tire width and am looking for a set of tires that can fit. I want the most about of rubber, 345's would be ideal. Only stipulation is that the tires are the stock tire height which is 31 inches I believe, right?

So far, only one I found is a "Hankook Ventus 325/50-20"
http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifens...180&Country=US

I've never heard of Hankook tires before in my life. Is anyone else running 325 - 345's out back? What width rim, what tires did you go with and how tall are they? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

345's might be a little wide for a 10-10.5 inch wheel.. I know the mustang guys run a 315 on their 10.5's. It might work with some sidewall though, just speculating..

I've never run Hankooks, but I have talked with people who have made the mistake of buying them, and they can't get them off their vehicles fast enough.

Well, I'm open to widening the rims out more as I will be tubbing out the bed as is needed. If it needs to be 11" that is ok with me.

See that is exactly what I wanted to know!!! I have never heard of them and that made me weary. Did they give any reasons? Is anyone on here running wide tires and if so which ones?

Wow! I've run Hankook Ventus' 295-50-20 for the past 3 summers and am completely impressed with their performance in the rain and overall ride quality, durability, handling and speed. I did have to finally go to a specialty wheel shop to get them balanced correctly but since then, I've buried the needle many times at 125+ and they don't shake at all. Their quiet, too.

Only two downsides to the Ventus has been that they're terrible in the snow, and they are directional, so you won't be rotating around the truck. That's it.

My 295-50-20 is on a GMPP wheel of 8.5" which is the minimum rim width for the 295. The push out just a 1/2 or 1 inch past the widest part of the body and look damn stout.

Dunno what your needs really are, but don't be afraid of the Hankooks. I'm not just talking out my *** here, either. I've owned plenty of Corvettes over the years right up to my 2001 Z06.

The Hankook Ventus doesn't suck!

EDIT: They're not good for the drags either. If you're going to run them on the track I suggest a set of slicks for the rear or running drag radials on the streets.

Also found a pic for you of a 295-50 20 on the 8.5" on the truck:

You need a minimum of 12 wide rims for 345s. They won't fit with out changing the backspacing (neither will those 325s).

I have Mich Pilot Sport PS2s in 335 with custom rims and there is about a fingers width between the sidewall and the leaf spring. 345s would likely require clearencing the springs.
