Question Any issues with different diameter tires front and back?

My back 2 tires are getting low on tread, and I am wanting to go back up in the overall diameter of my tires. My stock tire size is 30.5" in diameter (245/70R17), but I've had 30" tires on for a while (275/60R17). I want to go to 31" or taller. I know it will hurt acceleration & add weight. But at the same time, it will lower RPM on the highway & make bumps/potholes/etc smoother.

With my 96 Impala, I played with different tire sizes quite a bit. It had 3 channel ABS. I found out that the car was fine with having slightly taller tires in the front than the back. 28" front tires with 26" slicks was fine. But try it the other way with 25" tires on the front and 27" tire on the back, and the ABS would freak out.

I know that if I were 4WD or AWD, then there would be a gearing issue, but I am RWD.

I would like to put the new taller tires on the back, but I don't want ABS issues like before. Do these trucks (2005 Silverado with coils on the front) have 4 channel ABS?

I ran 275/45/20s in the front and 285/50/20s in the rear for about 2 years. Never had a single problem.

Tell me a few details of your truck? Year? RWD/4WD/AWD? Gears? Transmission?

If it worked for you, then I shouldn't have a problem.

You will have no issues running smaller tires in the front than back. I'm 100% positive.

And since we're kinda on the subject anyway, what if I put shorter tires on the back? Like maybe a 26" drag radial with 30-32" tires up front?

Should be fine

I have ran my stockers in the front and back with the 20s on either end with no issues. Stockers are 255/70/16, 30" (right around there anyways) and the 20s are 275/35/20, just under 28" (27.7" I think).

I've been wondering about this for my daily driver. I've got a little more of a difference between my fronts and rears. The fronts are 235/60-17 (29.9"), and the rear are 275/60-17 (28.1"). By my calculations, thats just over
7/8" on the radius of the tire. About a year ago, my ABS module burnt up, and before I go to the trouble of installing the 3rd one on the truck, I'm
wondering if if need to get a taller tire on the front. After reading this thread, I'm pretty sure I know what you guys will say, so am I correct in thinking new fronts are on the list before the new module?
Thanks in advance for your help.

The tires on the rear of my truck are bigger than the fronts, but not much. Got one of them slashed at school last year.
