Default 295/45 18 on an 8" wide rim???

the guy at discount tire said they can fit a 295/45 18 onto an 8" wide rim without any problems. it seems kind of wide to me. what do yall think? im afraid a 285/50 18 is too tall for my truck. but the width seems better. i need a some wierd size tire that nobody makes

Should be able to fit it. I think it would be close though.

Perelli makes a 285/45/18's that measure 28.10 if you want check'em out. Also you can go with 255/50/18 that are 28.04 tall.

Ran Walk is running a 285/50/18, but he's only dropped 2/5. I'm not sure you could pull off that size tire on the front of your rig.

i need some meat on there for sure...i already have too much of a traction problem with the 275/60 17 proxies. can someone with a ecsb 5.3 silverado(one like mine) thats all stock measure from the center of their hub to the fender well. im wanting to figure out exactly how much lower i am.

I am running a 275/35 on my 8" wide wheels. With a little more sidewall I would think it possible to run a 295, but I don't know for sure.

Here's some pics of 295/45/18 on 9.5's. Might be a little wide and buldge a little bit. more pics here. http://home.nycap.rr.com/agreif/Truck/

I have 255/55's and I have had the 295/45's and they are too short for my taste... at least with my drop... you should be fine.... that was on a 8.5 wide wheel...
