I'm planning on installing some 20" Yukon LTZ wheels on my '01 2WD Silverado and plan on doing a 2/4 drop in the very near future. After hours of searching it seems like 275/45 (29.74" tall) is the goto tire size for these wheels and drop, but they look too small IMO. I like the look of 285/50 (31.22" tall) better. Lots of people are running these on a 2/4 drop, but I haven't seen a single one with stock wheels. Obviously backspacing is everything when it comes to rubbing. When it comes to rubbing, is the width or height the main culprit? Would a 295/45 (30.45" tall) work?

So, anyone have 285/50R20 with 2/4 drop on stock 20" wheels? Is so, please post some pics, thanks!

mine has 275/45/20's alternative IMO is 295/40/20 a 285/50 would rub lock to lock on the front of my truck your results may vary

On an RCSB the 275/45's look okay. On an ECSB I think the tires need to be a little beefier to look right.

Here is mine, its around 2 1/2 4 1/2. with a 285/40/22 back, 285/35/22 out front

i have a 4/6 drop and i was running 275/45/20 for about a year and just changed to a 275/40 both look good but on hard dips in the road the 45s did rub a lil. going with a 2/4 i think anything you go with will be fine. let us know what u choose ! i want to see the tuck when its done !

 

 

im running 275/55/20 on stock tahoe wheels with a 2/4 drop and havent had any issues.. probably going 285/50 next. im with you on the 275/45 being a little short on a big truck
