SRT-10 and GT Mustang

Well, the truck's no doubt running good
after I got some break-in miles on it, it was time to see what the new setup had....
Got a buddy who just got a single cab SRT-10 Ram a few weeks back and has since put Billy boat long tubes and Bassani full exhaust with catless mids etc etc... he also has a volant CAI... We went from about a 40 roll this weekend and we stayed dead even until he shifted into 3rd and began to pull slowly... by 100, I was on his quater panel... Not bad for a cam only STOCK 5.3 with just some drivetrain mods...
probably would have been even closer if we would have gone from either a little slower, or faster... 40 is a pretty good dead spot, even with this converter. 20mph would have put me in 1st gear pretty good and anything over 50 would have landed me in the sweet spot of 2nd... anyway... either way around, I got beat, but I consider it a worthy death...

V10+street tires+shitty driver mod = Spin and possible crash LOL...

And for the obvious... A guy I know keeps talking all his **** about his Rustang... how awesome the "cams" are and how he beats up on 'vettes and vipers all the time...
... so I pointed out to the parking lot and told him... there's a stock 5.3 Chevy truck out there that'll run ******* circles around your slow ***.... Knowing what you know about your average mustang owner.. you already know, this guy's foaming at the mouth to go outrun a truck... hell... any Chevy for that matter.... So I get off work, go warm the truck up... at this point, he's got no clue whats done to the truck... so I start it up... and the very first words out of his mouth are, "you expect to beat me in that!?!?... its not even running on all 8 is it?" I told him, "Well, I'll do what I can on 6 or 7 cylinders to hang with you for a while...
" so after it idles and warms up, it finds its 725RPM idle and its metronome-like lope... I can tell he's getting nervous because he was talking to a guy I work with and he was telling him about how I just got it put back together blah blah... the guy tried to back out of the race... but I kept feeding him a line and telling him how it still wasnt tuned and everything....
-So we make our way out to I-564 (you locals know this road well) we come under the runway tunnel and give it 3 honks and go... he quickly disappears into the rear view... he gets up next to me and says he missed a shift. So I told him... You name the race... he says, ok... how bout we go from 60... I just grinned and said... lets go... we turn around, quickly get to 60... honk and go... I grab 2nd gear, and leave him faster than before... he's pissed... and swaers I sprayed him on both runs... we pull over, I told the guy. Fine, you hold my bottle in your car and we'll go...
did the same race from 60... with the same outcome... before he turned off, I leaned out the window and told him... not bad on 6 or 7 cylinders huh???? He wants to look under my truck this week sometime for a hidden nitrous system... LOL... nothing hidden here... all my spray is out in the open and was never even used for that matter.
I asked him to turn his Mustang sweatshirt inside-out from now on every time he's in the shop... and I'll even give him a Chevy hat to wear
