Lightning on the way to work

Ok FAST L's aside.... for about a grand you can run very low 12's with a L all day long.
Not to mention if we are talking all out speed the new gen silvys can not touch them period.
Thats all i'm trying to say. Hell i own two Silverado trucks but i can at least admit the Lightnings in the end can be way faster and still be street legal without having to even guess at it.
Just for ***** and giggles.....

i bought my 6.0 for a grand put a cam in it and out run not one but 2 lightnings .one with6#pulley johnny lightning tune ,drag shocks, headers,cold-air ,drag radials and i put about 5 1/2 lenghts on him and one with pulley not sure the pound ,diablo chip, and cold air, radial tires .that run wasnt even funny.now i do have drag radials and caltracs,4.11 posi but i pay 18000 for my truck brand new.whats a lightning cost new?you can take our truck put a 6.0 and turbo kit and be runnin low 9s high 8s for the cost of a stock new lightning ,and a cage and 4 link 2 i would imagine i mean you got 15,000 extra to work with.haha
And if you want to get into cost when talking performance then you are in the wrong hobby. Chevy trucks are great truck, Ford Lightnings are great trucks. Lets leave it at that.
All I'm going to say about the guy with the 6lb pulley is that he has a slow truck because I had the same mods and to put it mildly an all out 6L NA chevy truck didn't stand a chance. That is not to say my truck didn't cost more or that chevy trucks aren't great its just the truth.

simple fact of the matter is most of your guys on here are average Joe's who drive there trucks to work... meaning streetable. a nine second truck to me is freakin awesome but is it more sensible over my Sierra?? hell no, and i only have about $2500/performance mods at most into my $8500 truck lol.
were comparing apples to oranges mainly, i give major credit to the guys who have the Ls and are running the 9s... hell i give major credit to any L, i like em alot... but ill take my cheap chebby over an L anyday

But the great thing about a being forced induction with a Lightning is that a 9 second Lightning is completely streetable. I mean if you want gas mileage a stock L or modified one is going to get good gas mileage. But lets be honest, Chevy is the only truck that I know of that gets decent gas mileage. Its all in what you want.
I wouldn't take a cheap chevy over a L anyday, but I would take it when it comes to everything else but all out speed. Again not to say Chevy's aren't fast but going 9s in a L is pretty darn easy now.
The only reason I got rid of my L, is because it was honestly too nice to be used as a work truck which is what I need now.
Hence why I'm going to chevy. Much cheaper but can still be pretty fast.

You can get a older truck Chevy...and get it for a cheap price yes. But if you want a Lightning it's because it's a L.
You buy it because of what it is not because it's cheap.
You can argue all day long about goin low 9's in your turbo truck but honestly show me a new gen Chevy silverado that has done it.
Parish got close. BlackSheep on alot of juice broke high very high 9's and he is not the average street driven truck.
Look at the list i posted on the L's.
I can bring up two threads right now of FULLY Streetdriven L's almost full weight and everything.
Both truck are driven every single day and run 9's.
Not just barely into the 9's ethier.
If you wanna argue cost go for it. I won't bother as you don't to save money.
It's that simple. You do it as a hobby and price is not a factor to me.
Lightnings>Silverados
End of story.

i personally know frank in the list on the nloc he is number 4 with a 9.5 or something like that.now im not saying that his truck cant be drivin on the street but its not a street truck.my air blows cold and you can watch dvds in my cd player.my buddies truck with a 75 shot of nitrous run 11.90 with the 6# but doin in on the street is something all together different.oh and frank im chris joeys buddy that had the 8 sec turbo vega just incase you read this haha.oh and his is turbocharged how many fast lightnings still run the eaton thats another 3 grand on top of the price.we can do this all night long baby.

Is it possible....sure anything is. But a setup that is proven to net me 9's every single time vs a lets try this and hope i get there is a waste of time unless you just HAVE to hit a 9 in your chebby.
Also like i said i own Two Silverado's and will continue to mod them because i like them. But i do have plans to build a L in the future. And you know what...the L is almost guarenteed to wipe the floor with both my Chevys.

There are two guys right now with fresh setups that netted both of them..."Not running to the trucks full potential" 9 sec passes and both are street driven everyday. Cold ac and all.
Yeah i know thats only two. Thing is anybody with a L and do the same thing and run 9's all day and drive it on the street. Full weight everything intact.
Also like i said talk about the price all you want because even if you put 15grand or whatever you say you have for modding into the Silvy it won't hit that 9sec mark and be streetdriven.

and i beat them on raw motor hell with cam only i shouldnt be able to beat a supercharged truck.if i had a 30,000 truck with a supercharger get out run by a truck with 30 more cubic inches and i had a super charger i would buy a dodge hehe
