they lied to you, there is no such truck from the factory with a 5.3L and 5 speed (it's either a 4.8L or w/ 5 speed or 5.3L with an automatic for a Joe Gibbs truck), and anyone who is gonna bother with a swap would have a 6.0L and T56 combo.

But in time what? We might be able to hold our own against the random L but if you try to mess with any with more than just a tune/pulley you better have a little something something up your sleeve.
Numbers don't lie and our trucks don't do 9's very easy...i mean we got what....1guy in the 9's?
Do a little searching and you will find the truth.
The truth is there are ALOT of L's street driven in the 9's all day long not to mention the more heavily modded ones running 8's and so on.
Time slips don't lie and in the end we are OWNED.

umm i wouldnt exactly say there are alot of Ls running 9s. are there alot on the web, yes... but i can guarantee you that 8 outta 10 that you see at shows and on the streets are running slower than 12s, not that thats not fast.

and the guys that are running 9s, ask them how much $$ they have into there trucks... i wouldnt feel so bad after knowing that and getting SPANKED by one.

Ok FAST L's aside.... for about a grand you can run very low 12's with a L all day long.
Not to mention if we are talking all out speed the new gen silvys can not touch them period.
Thats all i'm trying to say. Hell i own two Silverado trucks but i can at least admit the Lightnings in the end can be way faster and still be street legal without having to even guess at it.

Just for ***** and giggles.....

Pretty sure he had a 5.3, not sure about the tranny we were yelling on the interstate. We pulled off into a gas station, never got out. He said the only other mod besides whatever comes with the JG package was a cam that he had installed. Great looking truck. Wish we could have taken both trucks to the track.
