It kinda sucks to hear a lot about fast trucks everywhere. I live around nashville and their aren't any that are worth racing, other than a couple Lightnings. I've only squared off with a joe gibs 5.3 5spd once, which he did good for what he has. My truck is still un-pullied.

I know everyone's not like this but I get really sick of the lightning owners around here thinking they're invincible... and when I ask them to go to the track and run, they pretty much always decline... There's a guy I know on here from this area but he doesnt have an L anymore, his was actually pretty nice and ran pretty good... but he had a ton more money in the motor than I did... and I still gave him a run for his money...

Just for informative purposes a stock Lightning weighs about 5000 pounds. Pretty much the same as an extended cab chevy (if not more in cases such as ap2002). Thats what they get for having heavy ***, power robbing, strong, drivetrain components.

Weights are going to vary between trucks, so I'm sure some do weigh that. But I've owned a lightning, been to boards where they post their weight, and it is anywhere from 4700-5100. With around 5000 being the most typical. 5000 is pretty close to what an extended cab chevy weighs is all I was saying. In fact Silver-mod-o is SIGNIFICANTLY lighter (4180) than that. From what I've seen, 4670 for a regular cab GM is way heavy. Curb wieght is measured on a full tank with no passengers and is a generic number. All I was trying to say is, it came off like you felt the lightning should have felt bad because he lost to an extended cab because of the weight. Well if the weight is the same or less than that particular reason doesn't matter. If you still wanted to say that his NA truck took out a supercharged truck then that would have made more sense. In the end I was just posting up info. Not trying to take anything away from Silver, who obviously has a fast.

understood, not trying to start an argument... i just found it hard to believe that they are that heavy and found that curb weight so i figured id post it. regardless im sure like you said youve been in and around them alot more than me so im sure you would know.
generally the LS models and loaded up models of a GM truck though do weigh 4300-4500 depending on gas and what not. my truck weighs 4050 with pretty much a full tank of gas and w/o me in it.
Ben is your truck a W/T model, how the fug did you get it that light LOL

Fully loaded LT, dual power seats, bigass middle console, and overhead console, the works
I've done a little weight reduction
even still, my N/A, "smaller" motor took out something with more displacement, and a blower... They are rated at 380/450, I put down 305/315 last time on the dyno
-And he still got handled.
