I sure hope you aren't talking about a RCSB 2wd 5.3 being a stock 16 second machine..

I actually don't know what you call the 2dr with an extended back, but yes I have seen those with 5.3's turn high 15's to 16 flat. But of course a lot has to do with gearing and tire size. I have never actually seen a true RC with a 5.3 (totally stock) run nor can I remember seeing a magazine test. But no doubt about it, a couple of mods and they scamper.

As for comparing HEMI gearing against a Titan - I would trade the running gear any day. The Titans have DEEEEP gearing which is why they run high (low numerically) rear axles. True the HEMI may run a 3.92 but that is with 20's and here is the gearing - 1st 3.00-1, 2nd 1.65 or 1.50-1 depending on situation, 3rd 1.00 (already) 4th .075 OD, 5th .069 OD. So you see we are basically a 3 speed with two OD's (have two 2nds but only can use one at a time). Not really condusive to acceleration.
The Titan doesn't reach 1.00-1 until 4th gear so it is a 4 speed with one OD.
That is what makes them run as well as they do. They would fall flat on their face with HEMI gearing.

Perfect scenerio is a hemi or 5.3 with Titan running gear with the lighter Chevy RCRB. Hope no one is offended, but the GM boys need to work on the Chevy looks. A little boxy and awkward looking. Chevy has traditionally been the best looker out there for years but I guess it is all about function over style now a day. I believe even some of the hardies Chevy faithful will agree.
The Titan is love or hate it. The HEMI Ram may be a looker but she is HEAVY!.

j-ville, when my truck had airaid intake, hypertech, flowmaster, 3.42's one wheel, it ran 14.65@94. but then again i've seen some run 16's.
are you going to the track this weekend? see you there if you do.
Be there my Man. But may not run as I havan't done any new mod. Hard to find the time. Next is going to be E-fan, short pulley and 190 thermostat. The HEMI runs with a 203 thermostat but a 180 will throw codes. See you guys are getting away with 160's. See ya there.

i personally dont like the look of the dodges, i dont know why but i havnt learned to like it yet. It looks disproprtional to me the big grille the small headlights i dont know what it is you said the hemi is a looker for some people, the new dodges some look ok but some looks like it has a dog nose or something close to that, if i was buying a truck for looks i would still go with chevy because of the mean look when you put a 3" lift and some beefy tires with a bull bar.

A 2dr with an extended back, I'm guessing you're thinking of an extended cab? You're right, an extended cab 5.3 should turn somewhere around high 15's. A stock RCSB 2wd 5.3 should hit somewhere around a 15.3 and possibly lower, you shouldn't come anywhere close to a 16 flat in one.
