well that actualy made me smile becuase a few days back at the local cruising spot, a women in a hemi was going down the line of trucks, saying ill beat that that that, pointed to my 4.8 hesitated and then said ill beat that. From that moment on ive been burning with a passion to ramp up my 4.8.
Off topic, picked on a ford powerstroke(cant remeber what year) he wasnt happy...

Actually it is a display of respect when someone claims a HEMI kill. I see it here and over at the "Titantalk" site. Those guys are always harping how fast their Titans are and how they whooped up on some HEMI, but I have yet to see one break out of the 15's. Even the SS's are typically 15 second flat trucks in stock form. A good broken in regular cab stock hemi will bust the 14's easy. A stock 5.3 is only a 16 second machine, but they are light and will take to mods incredibly. The 5.3 has us there but only because the aftermarket hasn't cracked the Mercedes ECM yet. Progress is being made but it will take time obviously or until the initial warranty periods run out and a outlawed ecm is manufactured with matching heads and cam. Personally, I can't wait.

speaking of the SS, i've seen one run 16.17 in stock form.
5.3 rcsb's can run low 15's stock. very few in the high 14's.
j-ville, when my truck had airaid intake, hypertech, flowmaster, 3.42's one wheel, it ran 14.65@94. but then again i've seen some run 16's.
are you going to the track this weekend? see you there if you do.

But, all in all, it still feels good.

There are several 'chevy stock' quad cab Titans in the high 14's. Fact.
Dodge guys like to compare 3.92 RCSB times to 2.93 crew cab Titan times.
PM moderator 'The Head' here for his times. I believe he ran 14.7X @XX.XX in a crew cab with I/E and in the 13's with a 50 shot.
BTW, i am loving this site. Lots of good tech. stuff to be had.
