Default Dadmobile kill LOL

So since truck is down I am driving our daily driver/wifes rig. It's a 2008 Ford Explorer with the 4L V6 in it. I just went to run to the store so was full of groceries, had the pup in the very back and my son in the back seat sleeping in his car seat. I was heading home and at the intersection that turns onto my main road to my house it goes from 2 lanes to 1 lane once you get through the intersection. I pull up to the red light on the inside lane and a few seconds later a late 90's Chevy Silverado RCLB pulls up along me in the outside lane. Was a young kid with what I am guessing was his GF sitting next to him. I know what his plan was when he pulled up and saw the not so subtle glance up and down of the mighty Explorer. I have done the same move.. and same glance. I knew he figured "i got this ****".

Light turns green.. about 1 second after he jumps through the red light trying to get the head start. I peg the throttle and take the corner as far to the inside as i can and lay into it once we get to the straight away. Much to my surprise I start pulling on him and once the two lanes merge to one I have roughly 2 car lengths on him.

I can't stop laughing. I'm pretty sure his GF gave him a WTF look after that one. Has to be pretty embarrassing to get beat by a 4 door Ford Explorer with the baby sun visor and all in the back window LOL

Lol I got up to 55-60 mph. I'm sure the wife would have not been thrilled but it was not anything extreme. More of a "who can get to the speed limit first".

And the dog is use to it. She is always riding shotgun in my truck lol

Pretty sure it was 0-60 in about 21.567 seconds lol.

If I was in my truck I would have not done anything. Truck can get scary way to fast.

To save the Chevy name, I hope he had an old worn out 4.3.
