Default 5.3 rcsb vs 4.7 rclb dodge

A kid I know at work, pretty good kid or guy, but every day after work he fly's around everyone (not in a dangerous way, but you know), has loud exhaust.. He lives just down the street from me also, so he came by one day and I looked it over.. a 03 Dodge rclb with a light cap, loud exhaust.. etc
He seen my 2002 Silverado a few weeks later... not thinking anything about it..

At work today he asks if I drove me old beater car or my truck.. I was getting a hint he might want to run.
I said yeah, I drove it to get some lumber after work...
After work I followed him out of lot... he does not see me till he turns on 4 lane... I hit passing gear and fly around him.. my truck it 100% stock, so it is quiet... but moves!

I hear his exhaust... he's coming up quick to and I can tell he wants revenge!! I slow down, let him fly by.. and I wave and laugh. trying to be a good sport.
the light ahead turns green.. I pull up next to him, and we talk for a sec.. I tell him I need to go to get some lumber down the road.. (about 1.5 miles down road)
acting like I have no thoughts about racing.

He didn't act like he wanted to run either.. but I kept my guard up some.. I figured I'd give him a jump.

light turns GREEN, and he guns it.... And I thought, "he does wanna go for it" I gun mine, the 3.73 G80 spins a little, and I'm off -- my front bumper is at his rear.. but by about 250 ft I'm even with him.
By 450 ft I'm pulling him and about 15 ft separate my back bumper to his front, by 1/8 mile I have 2-3 lengths on him and pulling away HARD.. traffic is up ahead and I slow down... let him fly by.. I turn off the hardware/lumber place and get my boards and go home.. lol

I know I have a bigger engine, and have less weight, but I let him start off first...

I wondering what he's going to say tomorrow at work? lol

don't forget "I left my A/C on"
good kill and remember, that loud exhaust adds like 50HP.

i hope he know the 4.7 are freakin slow and needs to quit racing it.....235 hp in a heavy truck is worse than racing a civic...LOL

there is a quad cab H/C, stall, gears, tune running 14.8 on 17s and slicks....i wouldnt waste no more MONEY OTHER THAN than putting gas on a 4.7

GOOD KILL

Seen him at work today... He asked me "what do you have in that thing, a 5.3?"
So he knows his Chevy engines.. For a young guy of 19, he was pretty cool about it, and made no excuses, except his is only a 4.7, and he has a cap... told him some of those caps are only 200 lbs or less...
I made a point that his has performance exhaust, mine is pure stock.

I also made an error on his truck, it is a dbl cab short bed... why I thought rclb????.. only 4 hours sleep each night the past 3 days-- sorry. So it is going to be heavier.

. He did tell me that his dad's 5.7 would take my truck.. a Hemi.
I said "Yeah, maybe!" and laughed

Came up to him later and talked for a few minutes.. Your not going to believe what he said to me-- he must like trucks, as he said to me "That truck moves, I should have bought a Chevy!" Couldn't believe he said that.
I told him, I also like Dodge/Mopars a lot so don't knock em.

Hats off to him, he at least loves fast trucks!

Good kill! Had a guy at work with the same truck. Talked smack for several days till he caught me leaving one day. Killed him from a stop, from 30 roll and 60 roll. he told me he wasnt running good cause he wasnt using octane booster. I nearly **** my pants laughing

Sounds like your smeared him-- lol

This kid who has the 4.7, his dad has a hemi truck, he gets to drive it sometimes.. so I may try my luck with it..

I've considered a 216 Vinci trucker cam, springs, injectors, more free flowing exhaust.. and a tune. something that is still quiet, sounds stock, but with close to 300 rwhp
