So because of this ongoing problem, I've been slowly getting rid of some variables. I am down to wiring now. Since it could technically be an issue with the Lingenfelter harness, I just picked up a pretty cheap 2006 LQ4 to get rid of the 58x reluctor. I'd be halfway to an engine swap just to pull the harness out enough to inspect it, and since I want to go to a tighter converter anyway....a 6.0 swap just made sense

Also, Jarrett's most recent track times have assured me that I made a good decision

I finaly gave up and bought the MSD. Never had another issue. In all fairness it seems to work for most of the people but if it doesnt youre fucked. And I was completely DISsatified with the customer service

Also, when its on the 2step the AFR goes to 22 and stays there....is that correct as well?

I will post more results once the voltage issue is fixed and I will plug/unplug it on the dyno again.

I just put my car back together and have a rough tune on it. I left the 2-step unplugged from the coil packs. A few weeks ago we took it out and got the A/F at 11.1-11.3 during WOT running 12.5lbs. I had the 17's on the car at the time, it would get stupid in 1st from any roll and haze the tires in 2nd/3rd. Well last weekend I put the 15's on it and plugged in the 2-step. I took it wide band would read in the 13 range during a first gear pull and in the 14 range during a second gear pull. I end up unplugging it and the A/F goes right back to low 11's.

My friend has the same 2-step on his 408/n2o car and he also had problems with it and the timing retard function.

Took it off, got an msd and never have had an issue. Seems like out of all the different ls 2 steps the lingenfelter is the one that has most of the problems.

I hope so too. It would play right along with how the 2 step has been behaving, if it does indeed turn out to be the problem. In neutral with it set at 4500rpms, I can never build more than like 3psi. Granted its a 4.8, but the pedal on the floor, 4500rpm...something doesn't seem right with that. So we'll see tonight.

Damn, I have one of those sitting on the shelf. Guess I should just leave it there!

I unplugged the 2 step...no change. I have had a pretty constant problem with my cable/scanner disconnecting mid-log. I had a brave friend get his multimeter probes on the 12v and ground pins in the OBD2 port while I brake stalled it. Up around 12psi, the voltage dropped into the 10v range. So that is definitely a problem. What's weird is the voltmeter in the cluster doesn't show a drop.

The stock clusters freaking suck. They are so slow to respond. That sucks the 2 step wasn't the prob. I thought you had it figured out today

Couldn't reproduce that voltage drop I saw at the OBD2...

Whatever, at this point I am just looking forward to the engine swap. Maybe/hopefully the problem will spontaneously disappear during that process. lol
