So because of this ongoing problem, I've been slowly getting rid of some variables. I am down to wiring now. Since it could technically be an issue with the Lingenfelter harness, I just picked up a pretty cheap 2006 LQ4 to get rid of the 58x reluctor. I'd be halfway to an engine swap just to pull the harness out enough to inspect it, and since I want to go to a tighter converter anyway....a 6.0 swap just made sense
Also, Jarrett's most recent track times have assured me that I made a good decision

May have found the problem...
I helped a friend install his 002 ....launch control works great but when trying to use the timing retard with the nitrous activated the ignition would break up down the track.. lingenfelter had no suggestions...still not working.. trying to decide which setup to try next
I had the unit with the timing retard and had nothing but trouble. I spent countless hours doing everything from shielding and grounding most of the wiring in my engine bay to running the two step, the trans brake and the car on three seperate batteries. I even put a suppresing diode in the brake. I REALLY wanted it to work, I NEEDED it to work.
I finaly gave up and bought the MSD. Never had another issue. In all fairness it seems to work for most of the people but if it doesnt youre fucked. And I was completely DISsatified with the customer service
Lingenfucker NO step FTMFL

I installed the 2 step as the instructions say using the 12volt source wire on the clutch pedal. The 2step function itself works perfectly but while driving around down when its not in use the car feels terrible. It shakes and feels like it has no power..almost like bad plugs or even when you forget to install some plug wires. As soon as I unhook it the car runs perfect...any ideas? Also, when its on the 2step the AFR goes to 22 and stays there....is that correct as well?
I was having some voltage issues on the dyno today and when I unplugged my MSD 2-step unit I picked up 40rwhp. HOWEVER I am still having the voltage issue i think the small amount of resistance added from the msd just made it worse. Figured this might help someone. I will post more results once the voltage issue is fixed and I will plug/unplug it on the dyno again.
Has anyone had issues with it affecting the car when it's not in use?
I just put my car back together and have a rough tune on it. I left the 2-step unplugged from the coil packs. A few weeks ago we took it out and got the A/F at 11.1-11.3 during WOT running 12.5lbs. I had the 17's on the car at the time, it would get stupid in 1st from any roll and haze the tires in 2nd/3rd. Well last weekend I put the 15's on it and plugged in the 2-step. I took it wide band would read in the 13 range during a first gear pull and in the 14 range during a second gear pull. I end up unplugging it and the A/F goes right back to low 11's.
My friend has the same 2-step on his 408/n2o car and he also had problems with it and the timing retard function.

I cant help with your issue but I will say that I purchased a brand new lnc-002 from lingenfelter and immediately after I installed it I had a horrible misfire. Took it off, got an msd and never have had an issue. Seems like out of all the different ls 2 steps the lingenfelter is the one that has most of the problems.

I hope so too. It would play right along with how the 2 step has been behaving, if it does indeed turn out to be the problem. In neutral with it set at 4500rpms, I can never build more than like 3psi. Granted its a 4.8, but the pedal on the floor, 4500rpm...something doesn't seem right with that. So we'll see tonight.

I unplugged the 2 step...no change. I have had a pretty constant problem with my cable/scanner disconnecting mid-log. I had a brave friend get his multimeter probes on the 12v and ground pins in the OBD2 port while I brake stalled it. Up around 12psi, the voltage dropped into the 10v range. So that is definitely a problem. What's weird is the voltmeter in the cluster doesn't show a drop.

Couldn't reproduce that voltage drop I saw at the OBD2...
Whatever, at this point I am just looking forward to the engine swap. Maybe/hopefully the problem will spontaneously disappear during that process. lol

Good find man! Hopefully the fix is that easy
