Well your calculations are definitely wrong.

1. You forgot to add the negative value for a dish which is about -8cc

2. Are you sure it's .004 out of the hole??? Every block is different. I typically see .005-008 out of the hole on most factory stuff I have taken apart.

3. What gaskets are you using??? Are you sure that is the correct bore size on the gasket???

I'm not sure about anything lol, and why would I subtract for a dish on a flat top piston? I dunno I was just trying to get close on the compression ratio

The piston you listed showed for a 5.3 with a dish. If your going with the 5.7 flat top then there is no need. What gasket? The bore size is also listed as 5.3l

Speedpro 4.8 flat top
Graphite gasket
I guess I'll rent a compression tester and do the math from that, heads are on not taking it back apart to measure lol

Thanks for the info though

Off the top of my head, I know of four sources for balancer install tools. Summit Racing, Scoggin Dickey, eBay, and a guy on Facebook.

While that's all well and good its sort of like getting lucky and realizing you don't have a condom.

And it's 2am on a sunday. And she has a latex allergy.

Point being I didn't know you need a special tool, unless you know that the universal balancer install kit doesn't work you can't plan for anything else.

I hear that. Sometimes you just gotta say "**** it" and keep on rolling. Lol

You could give the back of the crankshaft a few whacks with a deadblow hammer in case the thrust beating did shift. Should be fine though.

I took half a day Friday off and Saturday and Sunday, so hopefully I'll get to post some idle bids or something this weekend. I don't know my one helper already flaked on me so I don't even know if I'm going to have the man power to get the tbi 350 / 700 r4 out and the new 5.3 / 4l65 in
