You could stay under that and it would run fine, but hit 4100 rpm and regardless of gear, speed, throttle position, it would cut the signal to the coil. Noticed the crank position sensor would stop giving a signal at 4100 rpm, changed it and never had an issue after. Odd, as this was a 99 and all it provided was a 0/5v reference if it hit a tooth on the crankshaft's target wheel, but it worked.
And you didnt get a service engine code? Sounds kind of like what I am dealing with... Maybe I'll try that.

I'm not sure. No one that local anyway. At this point would EFI live be able to tune my truck since I have changed operating systems with HPT?

If I knew what that meant I may try it.

If you have a COS with HPT, EFI wont read it. You will need to go back to stock and build a new COS in EFI Live.

I know for a fact you can do the Crank relearn with EFI live on your truck.

Otherwise find someone with a snap on scanner to do it.

Hpt should do it as I've done it many times in the past, but haven't done it with 3.0-3.2

HPT **SHOULD** be just as capable at doing a crank relearn as well. the new version of the software is just seems half baked to me.

No... Say it isn't so...

3.0 officially came out and lasted what, like 4 months... Now 3.2 is out...

It was in the scan tool software I believe... I haven't used it though since the new software.

I do have an old 2.23 and a 2.24 copy of the CD if you need the older software.

Why are you needing todo a crank relearn? Are you getting codes or change the pcm?

You should do it after changing sensors, motor, pcm etc. He never did. Actually you should do it after changing cam but I haven't and I know many don't.

I didn't think I needed to do a crank relearn but I need to sort out this issue. I am baffled as to what it could be. I think the crank relearn helped it but I honestly don't know.
