The dip stick bracket is fairly sharp, and the wire is pretty well wedged in there... there are a bunch of funny angles. It could have ripped from being stretched? I have no idea. I am really hopeful that it was arcing to the dip stick... i want this **** behind me.

Put it back on and let the truck idle then go grab the wire. Youll know pretty fast if it was arcing

arcing on the dipstick is completely possible, I managed to arc my starter on it and blew a hole thru the tube...

I have the red plug wires like those, make sure you use the little tube of grease. They are a bitch to get off if not, they fit good and tight. They are well worth the money, the wire is huge compared to the stock wires.
