Looks like a torched another coil. On my ride home last night I got another misfire. At this point I am leaning toward a bad ground. I will be testing the wires to the coil within the next few days, and I will be double checking all the ground wires.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

On the same cylinder or side? Sure you arent getting any arcing from a burnt or cracked wire?

Replace your plug wires and go over your grounds. Like atomic wedgie asked, same coil? Side?

I'm not sure... I havent had a chance to look. My meth indicator LED was very faintly flashing as well though which led me to think it was very likely a ground. Could this have been caused by arcing?

Thanks for the tip Richard.

Since you just did an engine swap, I presume this to be a bad ground until proven otherwise

I believe all thise coils in that bank have a common ground. Wouldnt it be an all ir nothing thing if it was a bad ground?

I would also check the trigger wire for tgat coil.

Two have died in the same bank, I bet it will keep eating coils unless he finds a common denominator. A bad ground can overheat the coil, it may only be a matter of time for the others. The odds of all four dying at once would be very slim. Keep in mind he has next to no miles on it between the first coil and the current so...

All 8 of your coils share the same ground. Its called G102. It is located on the left side of the block just behind the PS pump. The bolt that secures G102 also secures the main ground coming off of your battery... I have seen these grounds break internally and look great. Just give the wire a small tug to see if the wire stretches...
