It's as simple as he typed it.
Disable the long term trims and only use short term trims. Use the wideband to tune open loop and go back to closed loop with just the short term trims.

I have a Yukon I am planning a similar build with. The motor has been tapping away for the last 30k miles. I have a bunch of parts like a Yank converter, headers, Fast intake, 243 heads, 4.11 gears and diff. I am either going to get a 5.3 bored to 346 or a 383 because the motor in it now is on bored time. Since our builds are similar can you give me more specs on yours?
