I think the main reason I haven't adressed the stance is I go back in forth between how much I should drop it........there are a few "kit" options in McGaughys and DJM starting with a 5/3 in both and a 8/6 in the DJM only. Lastly there is the Ride Tech kit that's at least 8/6......
all of these at various price levels of course

As most of you know I've been running a 1500 leaf pack and velvet ride shackles for most of it's life and that alone brought the rear down about 1 1/2" or so.......I think there's a 1" difference front to rear as it sits now...

Other option:

Rear; I have a set of 1500 Hotchkis 4" lowering leaf springs and belltech 3" drop shackes that I think will work quite well out back....although a more non standard approach I like the idea of 7" f rear drop without having to run a flip kit.

Front; if I go with the Hotchkis/Belltech option for the rear.....I'd need to run either the DJM front setup or the Ride Tech......for around 6" total drop

as for carrier bearing relocation there are no real sano setups out there in kit form, although I like the way Ride Tech does there's best

thoughts?

Hey MoreGrip, How much did your ride quality improve with the Velvet Ride shackles..and would you happen to know where to get another set? Or if ever want to sell yours...let me know..I am on a quest to have a VERY low static drop with a Very smooth ride..I was also looking at the Sulastic shackles, but they are pricey as hell...around $350

I would do a flip kit if I were you..Nothing will ride as well as a oem leaf

thanks for the recommendation

the velvet rider shackles are no longer produced (I believe LORD corp made them). As for the ride they made a noticable improvement on ride quality, meaning better, or more cushy.

From everyone I've talked to about their lowered trucks, theyve been like 4/6 or 4/7, and they say there is no other way to go that low besides a flip kit and notch, it is just much better and a lot less dingy than any other option

thats good info.....I suppose a flip kit wouldn't be terrible and I could keep my velvet ride shackles (which I like).....just hate to see those Hotchkis springs go to waste.....

If I went with the flip kit I think, being a 2500HD, I would end up with more like a 5/7 or 6/8

I really suck at suspension advice Grippy but if it helps, PM Dezert1500. He knows more than a thing or two about how to lower a truck and not only keep the ride but improve the comfort. I've ridden in his slammed truck and it rode better than some high end luxury cars i've been in.
