Some great news, all the last parts I was waiting for have shipped out and are supposed to arrive sometime tomorrow. If that's the case and the weather's good I'll drive down saturday and pick everything up. Then, if the weather stays nice I'll get after the truetrac install, but it's looking like rain so I'm not gonna hold my breath unfortunately.

Fingers crossed though!

Got the truetrac installed yesterday, along with the Mag-Hytec cover and ARP main cap studs. Summit fucked me on the ring gear bolts; even though the package says ring gear bolts, they sent me flywheel ones

Only test drove it once so far, no gear whine on acceleration or coasting, no binding either. Going to do a few more heat cycles on it before I beat on it.

Still need to figure out how to mount the two brake line brackets; the one at around 11 o'clock seems like an easy fix with a grinder but the black one at 12 is going to take some figuring. Also need to get another quart of gear oil, that mag hytec is a beast of a pan!

Here are a couple pics, I always set out with good intentions to take a lot of pics when doing something involved like this, but I always get into the work, and covered in oil and dirt so I never end up taking as many as I would like unfortunately.

And I took this pic cause the way it was sitting, the front was only a couple inches off the ground, so it looked like I had my own RGV truck

Few small updates: rear end is still quiet as a church mouse, still havent tried to spin both tires but I have no doubt it will work as it should when I start making some power. Still need to add another quart of oil and figure out what to do with the two brake brackets.

Going to pick up the valve springs this weekend, which is the last part I'm waiting on.

Sent Justin (blackbear) my stock tune file to get a background tune done up for the injectors and new sensors I have.

And I'll hopefully have a quote on ceramic coating my exhaust parts by the weekend so I can decide if it's in the cards.

$600 to ceramic coat the headers, y and cat back piping...hmm

Would like to do it but I don't think I want to drop that much coin.

Did a little work over the weekend, was raining for most of it so I tied up some loose ends I left with the rear end work from last weekend.

Added the 4th quart of oil that the Mag-hytec pan can hold, and modified one of the brake line brackets so it can work with the new pan as well. Also removed the spare tire and winch, mostly for more room to work but also to see if the weight savings would make a difference. Not sure if I'll reinstall them or not.

This main bracket that attaches around 11 o'clock position has too much material around the bolt hole, so I just ground down the end:

Then cleaned up the rust and sprayed some flat black paint:

Installed:

There's another bracket at around 12 o'clock position for the parking brake but the way I had the brake line zip-tied temporarily to the other brake hard lines is secure enough that I won't bother replacing it.

Also picked up my valve springs, Patriot Extreme duals with Ti retainers, new seats, viton seals and locks.

Technical Specs:

Install Height: 1.800"
Max. Valve Spring Lift: 0.660"
Spring Pressure Closed: 155 lbs. @ 1.800"
Spring Pressure Open: 410 lbs. @ 1.140"
Coil Bind: 1.090"
Retainer Material: Titanium

Unfortunately I bought the mic back when I was set on running beehive springs, so the retainers for the duals don't sit flush because of the first step for the inner spring:

Using a digital caliper, I measured the step and it's about .050", so when measuring the installed height I'll just add .050" from the total measurement. Is this about what you would expect the first step to be, 50 thousandths?

Got my bumper painted and put the stock tails back in to give some contrast to the all black look now. Thought I would miss the LED tails but I'm loving this new setup.
