hes got an update over on GMFS, let me post it quick ill edit it in this one. from what i remember he is getting his TB ported.

EDIT, here it is:

And just like a piece of toast with pb&j, it never lands the right side down

But after 20 or 30 minutes with some buffing compound the scratch is about 99% gone thankfully.

This lead to a few other small jobs like replacing some more rusted bolts with stainless ones, and a mild underhood detail. Nothing too exciting, just an excuse to spend some time outdoors on a beautiful day

Something different for a change; sending a box away instead of getting one delivered. I'm sending my LS3 TB to VMAX Motorsports for CNC porting. There's a lot of positive feedback from camaro5 and corvetteforum about Pete's CNC program for LS3 TBs, so I'm really excited to get it back and see for myself.

Before, some of the rusted bolts I changed:

Afterwards:

This bolt was the worst in terms of rusting before I changed it:

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates lately. Hasn't been anything very exciting to post, and as FortPlain posted, only things I've been doing have been small and boring.

I sent the throttle body away to get CNC ported by VMAX. There's good feedback coming out of camaro5 on N/A combinations, not huge obviously, but enough to make a difference in all of the cases where people had them ported. I think (and Janetty says the same thing) the same kind of gains will be directly proportional on a PD blower setup like mine so I'll be anxious to see if it makes a difference on part-throttle responsiveness and airflow on mine.

Geoff is supposed to ship my cam and springs out this week, the autocal from blackbear is en route somewhere to my house and I'm waiting on two orders from Summit to ship from backorder. So nearly everything is either bought or on its way. Still got to pick up a few small tools to make a couple jobs easier but it's almost ready to come together. Got discouraging a couple times along the way thinking of the money being spent, but I've got a renewed enthousiasm ever since the weather started getting nicer and now that I can start to see the end result coming up closer.

It's getting there..before it was just ideas and a bunch of boxes, but it's starting to become more of a reality. Seeing the success you're having with yours is helping to stay motivated too

End of the month or the start of June. Finishing up a contract at work so I'll have a few weeks off to give 100% of my time and concentration. Thought this would be a better and more fun way to do the project rather than doing a little bit at night or on weekends. Going to do the truetrac first then tear the engine down.

For now, yes but it's in the back of my mind that I may need to upgrade the injectors at the least, and the fuel pump at most. I'm not sure though, so before I spend more money based on guesses, I'll get everything buttoned up and really pay attention to injector duty cycles and fuel pressure throughout the RPM band. I plan on lots of datalogging too to make an informed decision.

My natural inclination is to overengineer everything once, and not worry later, and I almost bought 52lb injectors a while back, but my tuner thinks the 42 or 45 lb stock ones will be sufficient and Trey has a nearly identical setup to what I'm putting together and he's still on those injectors and non-flex pump. So all this to say that I'm going to wait and see what the numbers say, then decide what to do. I don't want to be driving around with IDCs in the high 80s/low 90s or have fuel pressure of around 50 at WOT, so I'll address things as they come up.

I wonder if they were the 52lbers that grey matter was selling a while back?

Im going with a similar setup to yours (Pat G eps cam, 80e 3k Circle D) but mine will be with a P1sc. It looks like you have your build going quite well. So I thought I would ask about your fuel system. as for now all I have is the 52lbers. keep us posted!

I'll definitely post up numbers when I get it together and make a decision how to proceed. For whatever reason though, the trend I've noticed for centri blowers has been to install much larger injectors than on PD-blower setups. Not really sure why, I'd really like to pick the brain of someone who's tuned both to get a good grasp of what each combination likes and needs.

i bet there are plenty of people who have done tuning on both. if i remember right, people upgraded to 60# injectors (motron/siemens/bosch for example) in company with a walbro fuel pump for what you are doing to lighten to load and allow for more room to increase HP.

but dont take my word for it since i dont have any experience, just what i read lol.

I'm actually waiting on my New Interceptor and Wideband, I picked one up from 2004SSS, but it ended up being a different model that wouldn't work with their relay control kit. I plan on using it to shut down my nitrous system if AFR becomes unsafe. Any pics of it installed?

I just might end up kicking myself for not getting the 52 (or larger) injectors, but I'll see what happens when everything's put together. In hindsight I probably should have just ordered them, there's no real downside except for the cost, but fuckit now. Don't know how I feel about the walbro pumps; things I've read about durability and heat have me pushed in a different direction if the pump can't supply enough go-juice. I feel like it would a huge pain in the *** to come up with a bigger bucket design to fit dual pumps and at some point if I drop too much money into upgrading a weak fuel system I'd almost be better off redoing a return style setup instead...just more things to take up my time and money haha.

That's a smart idea to have it setup that way. Sorry I don't have any pics yet, I'm planning on doing everything systematically, so before I install the gauge I want to have the wideband wired up, and before that can happen I need the longtubes installed. And before that etc., you see how it goes. I've installed and built things only to go back and redo them enough times that I'm going to be patient this time and just go ***** out at one time.

Does anyone know if the controller for the aeroforce has a provision in it for datalogging? I'm gonna do some more digging but one of the things I wanted from a wideband was the ability to datalog. If the aeroforce one can't do it, I think you can get a cable from innovate that has a output for a computer, right?

In the meantime, here's a pic of the Autocal. Not much to look at but one of the best mods I've bought.

I'm not sure if the Aeroforce gauge has the provision for data logging. You can email the sales dept. at Aeroforce and ask. I'm just holding off the rest of my nitrous install til I get the rest of the parts for my gauge. Looking forward to you getting some parts installed.

That makes two of us. An unfortunate circumstance that's come up is that I made order of about 20 things from summit, and the exhaust I ordered keeps getting bumped back, so the whole order doesn't ship, so I could have at least installed the truetrac if I had some of the parts I've ordered, but what can you do?

On the positive side, I think my cam's finally been delivered to my shipping address in the US, so depending on what happens to that last order I'll go down in the next few weeks to pick everything up.

So now I'm only waiting on the VMAX TB to ship back to me. Need to pick up a bearing puller, some punches, gear marking paste and I'm probably going to invest in a shop press to get the carrier bearings on. Almost there!
