How far from the end of the axle tube are the flanges welded?

didnt measure from the axle tube since its not exactly square. 1fastbrick told me it was supposed to be 2 5/8ths from the outside of the axle flange. but to be honest i just mocked all the brake components up and tacked it in place. i measured it afterwards and its pretty damn close to 2 and 5/8ths.

I as well as Atomic and some others know how much of a pain this swap is. Looking good though. Are you going to trim the old backing plate flange off?

iv been reading some of the threads and just thought about it. if i find a 68" axle with my same gear set, i could just weld on some spring perches and bolt it up right?
the mods that you and atomic are doing are simply if you WANT to run disks right?

my NNBS already has drums in the rear.

Yes. That would work. But if you could find one from the same body style you wouldn't have to worry about the spring perches. You'll also have to use either a conversion u-joint or change the yoke on your driveshaft.

Wasn't it 2 and 7/8 from Wheel mounting surface of axle flange to face of backing plate bracket??? As long as you mocked it up properly should be ok.
