Thanks for the offer, I am up in Skagit co. I am hoping to have the motor built this winter and then find a truck to drop it into in the spring if the budget allows, this motor is going to be a little more than I originally figured. I originally was going to go with a 370 but it would have had to be a max effort build to get where I wanted, with the 408 I can go a little milder and not spin it to the moon.

I've had a 408, and now have a 408. I almost wish my current 408 was a 370. stock crank just seems a lot more dependable.

the first 408 from HKE let go somewhere around 1,200 miles. the 2nd 408 from HKE ate itself somewhere around 900 miles. bad luck? possibly, but all of my stock bottom junkyard motors live around 7000-7,500 rpm and last forever as long as the tune is good.

the current TSP 408 doesn't even have 1k miles on it. I saw the build sheet on it and I'm confident in their builds. EVERYTHING is documented and on paper. I like that.

Well that sucks, I know I would not be having one built if I didn't have someone I trusted that could build it. They have done a lot of builds for people at my local track. I got on their schedule 6 months ago, I did not want to take a chance on a mail order motor.

Wow, that is terrible. It seems to be funny how the junkyard motors are usually pretty dependable, yet sometimes the fully built motors have huge problems.

Hope things go better with this new one, it is nice to have EVERYTHING documented for sure. No guess work, and accountability goes a long way.

No problem, Maybe after I am done with it I can swing down that way on my way to Bremerton Raceway. I race over there a few times a year.

If you are down, I'll go with you. I don't mind Bremerton. Who knows, my rig might even be ready for a shake down by then!
