check the operating angle between your pinion angle and driveshaft to make sure it's not too far. that seems like a lot of shim without a flip kit or major suspension change.

is there a reason you havent thrown away the mud flaps yet?

 

I'm sure I will measure it someday, just need to hit up the hardware store and get a new angle finder.

As for the mudflaps, I can dig em and I am missing the LR flap too, I need to find another. I live in MN and go hunting and we have dirt roads up north and with winter mud flaps are really nice. I even have the factory mud flaps on my grand prix, I never get snow build up under the bumpers which is nice.

 

Intake gaskets, Knock sensors and harness have been ordered. Saved like 60 bucks buying on the internet even though I get a work discount from napa.


Also took some new picture with the 2/4 drop. It's got a great case of the chevy lean going on with 33 gallons of fuel in the tank.

 

All the stuff came, finally. Amazon free shipping took 8 business days, like c'mon.


Rear knock sensor looked great . Everything was really dirty and had signs of a problem down the road, atleast it gets taken care of now.

Cleaned up some, best I cared to do with the heads on.



Looks good still, a little wire wheel and it'll buff right out.



I put RTV around the inside of the cups and pushed them down, that squeezed some RTV out and I used that to make the dams/bead around to stop the water from getting in. Tossed the foam in the trash aswell. Forgot pics, caught in the moment type things and it's whatever, we know what it looks like.


And nice clean seal.

 

There was also alot of oil film inside the intake and on the intake runners.

I will be looking into a catch can here sortly, likely buy the stuff later this week on payday.

 

Giving the long bed some love. Looks good with those 20's and the 2/4 drop.

Great lookin truck man, as much as I love my lifted 2500 Id love to get a nice cheap 2wd truck someday and do what youre doin

Oh and how much has lowing the truck cost so far cause where you have it now is perfect imo

 

The McGaughys lowering spindles and shocks were like $425 or so. The DJM lowering hangers and shackles was $180 and I had to buy a few extra bolts and the pinion angle shims were another $20 bucks.

So all in all it was just under $650 for the full 2/4 drop. Did all the work and the alignment myself so that helped in keeping the costs down.

I have about another $300 stuck in the front end for both wheel bearings and a new steering rack but thats because I had to replace them.
