New radiator came in today...brand new from summit for $130 shipped, even has the oil cooler ports!

Started it up and everything seems fine except it looks like both of my narrowband o2 sensors are trashed, which isnt really surprising given what they saw

Well i guess that is good and bad. At least your heading in the right direction.

When the motor was apart did you change up anything besides those studs?

Im just glad the bottom end isnt hammering away and the oil pressure is good.

Nope only thing I changed was had the heads surfaced and new gaskets and studs. Figured it was working fine before and no need to change anything!

New rad, as if yall dont know what one looks like!

mine idles around 700-800 once fully warmed up. Cruising with the 4.10s it would be around 950 at 60 and 1050 at 70... With the new 3.42s it does around 900 at 60.

When i first started tuning with it at 60 is was around 1200* timing in the low 30s, now the timing is in the low 40s and the temps are what i mentioned earlier.

However my probe is post turbo next to the wideband. About 1 foot from the turbo housing.

Are the EGT's on a Diesel a lot less than on that of a gasser?

I guess both. Just seems high to me after watching my Diesel EGT's. At idle I see maybe 250-300* and at WOT, if I stay in it for 12-14 seconds it might crack 1000*, and that's with a hot tune @ 24psi. Never had an EGT on my gasser so I don't have a feel for what those would be.

A lot lower on diesels. Diesels run lots of excess air except at high power which is part of the reason they smoke so much at high power.

Yeah that's why it's suprising, excess air = leaner = runs hotter.

I know when the Diesel guys EGT's get too hot (1800-2000) they dump extra fuel to cool down the exhaust, but I guess I never thought that gassers would run hotter under regular driving conditions.

Figured the gassers would run cooler since they are closer to stoich for the most part than Diesels. Diesels are more forgiving with their AFR which is why assumed the opposite. I gotta re-think my thinking cuz obviously I'm wrong! Lol
