Nice! Looks like you sold my old turbo kit as well! Still getting the new roof or something else?

The roof is forthcoming. Still getting estimates. A lot of places only do asphalt roofs, and that's not what I want. If I am going to spend the money, I would like to have a metal roof.

I'm going to look into Hydroboost on the truck though, seems like it's a worthwhile investment in the stopping dept.

Seems like the retainer was curing as you were pressing the hub on. As soon as you trap the sleeve retainer with no air in a small gap the stuff begins to cure. You have to use high press rates to avoid it from curing before you've fully pressed the parts together.

Regardless, I'm glad it's on there now. How much boost are you seeing with the blower at max RPM?

Possibly...I tried to press it on quickly, but between figuring out a good way to hold the hub still while I used the installer and breaking several bolts it took longer than I would have liked. I didnt get into boost on the test drive, I was reusing the torn up belt (ripped off one of the ribs) since I didnt have another one of the right size.

What did you do with the old hub. How bad was the fit? I hadn't thought of this but you could use a large gap retainer like loctite 620 to hold it on. It's like 640, but more viscous to fill larger gaps. So maybe you can still get some money out of it.

Its sitting in my box of pulleys and shims from this whole supercharger thing. It was a decent fit, just spun the first time I loaded the pump. Would probably work fine with some stuff like you are talking about.

So had a moderate heart attack earlier...started the truck up to make sure I fixed the brake system from a problem I was having of the brakes self-applying after moderate braking pressure. Bleed the booster and cycled through a lot of fluid so I think I fixed that one.

Started the truck and after a few seconds I heard what sounded like rocks bouncing around in the intake. Not good. I put on a shorter belt and took the blower off the circuit and started it again and no sounds, so the problem must be the blower. In my mind the bearings are shot. This morning I take off the pulley to hook up the snout to a drill so I could spin it by hand and found this:

The spacer whipple made only lasted about 45 minutes of run time with no boost time. Obviously I need to think of something else, but in the short term I put the 6 rib pulley back on and no more sounds, so thats good!

dang, talk about some rough luck. I thought this blower thing was supposed to be less hassle than the turbo setup

So you have to use that spacer for the 8rib but not the 6rib?

Correct. The issuebis whipple does not make an 8 rib pulley for the silverados. Thr 8rib pulley i have is for a lightning.

My options would be to replace the snout on the blower with a different one, or open up the bore of the pulley so a spacer could have more meat on it.
