It is more towards the drivers side bank but that whole area of the merge is just one big cavity inside. I wanted to center it but I though it might be too tight with the hood clearance and I didnt know if I had enough pipe to get it into the downpipe and I didnt want to order pipe again . If you look at the KB and Trick kits they have the gate on the xover under the truck without issue. I have pretty solid boost at 8psi, no issues with creep or anything.

Im sure there is a way to wrap around the front instead of over the alternator like I did but there is a decent amount of crap in the way. The junction box that has the positive batt cable and alternator wire. The ecu is also in that general area. The manifold flipped sort of points you up anyway and going directly towards the front of the engine would hit one of the manifold studs. Going over the alt seemed like the easiest way.

......that or go twins, solves your xover problem

The gap guards don't look bad at all, cant even really notice them. The body lift only took a day to do, very easy.

Default 4L80e Update

Had some time this weekend to give the 4l80e I picked up a once over. I got it up on an engine stand, drained it and pulled the pan. Unfortunately the pan wasnt empty as I had hoped it to be.

Found the two below pieces of metal and after a quick reply in the drivetrain section from Vince B, he is saying they look like the springs from the overdrive roller clutch.

Considering both of my trucks are up and running and the 60e is still somehow holding on after 1000 miles, I figure I'm going to take a stab at giving the 80e a rebuild myself. I have never rebuilt a transmission before so I'll be doing research for a week or two, picking up the parts and diving in.

Stay tuned for some rebuild pics.

Default Small update

Sent some logs back to Justin at Blackbear and got a retune, the overall driveability was fantastic but as I crept into boost the mixture was too lean, so back to blackbear for some tweaks. Been running 1300 miles so far on the initial tune and the 60e is still holding strong somehow.

Since the 80e was going to need a rebuild I took some time this weekend to make a service adapter to one of my engine stands. Not as pretty as some of the others on here but it came out pretty good.

Tear down/rebuild pics to follow as I get some free time.

Paint still drying
