Thanks man, I think the tally was about $3k, the above is missing some prices and some other misc parts. I def overindulged on some things. If someone wanted to copy the system budget style I dont see why it couldnt be done for $2500 or so.

What killed me was alot of shipping charges for multiple orders while figuring out what was needed as the build progressed, some misc parts I ended up not using and had to buy different ones. It was a trial and error deal but even at $3k fully intercooled turn key, I'm happy with it.

does the hot size seem like it supports the weight of the turbo well?? I am wanting to do a home brew but with a large frame turbo and wonder if I could fit a support brace in there?

 

It seems to be holding up just fine. The turbo does shake a little when the truck is running but it doesnt seem too bad. I put the flex pipe in the xover as close to the turbo as possible. The thought was that I could keep the weight of the xover on the drivers side head and the weight of the turbo on the other. Dont know if thats whats actually happening but seemed logical at the time.

Worst case you, like you mentioned is to just make a bracket. You have a clear horizontal shot to the front of the head for one. I made the weight bearing parts out of 14ga so I hope that helps a bit as well.

Almost 1000mi on it so far though and holding strong.

Did you relocate you coils to the firewall?

 

You'd be surprised how many times I've had to run for a fire extinguisher of some sort. lol

Coils are just flipped upside down. Brackets stay the same, use two of the original mounting studs, add two loc nuts and you're done. Was a piece of cake. Making the plug wires was easy as well.

 

Oh okay hahaha yeah i plan on getting a small extinguisher, what catches on fire? The turbo blanket?
