You didn't look at the vin? Sorry to hear that. At least you opted for 243s, all your stuff should run great on the 6.0.

unfortunetly no i didnt..i took the dude i bought the truck off's word. i figured a fully loaded v8 truck would have the best engine you could get also. but i was wrong and so was he..o well. it does give me a reason to 6.0 swap it now.

I'd always be wary of which V8 is in a RCSB 1500. I've never seen one with a 5.3, they're all 4.8's when I've looked at them. At least you didn't get a v6 so you only have a shortblock swap to do.

However, I have a buddy pushing 15lbs. on a stock 4.8 and it refuses to give up. He's been doing it for 2+ years now and with 40" tires I didn't think it'd handle it for a month.

usually a LS rcsb with a v8 has a 5.3..i was looking for one for months and when i searched, i seemed like most of the work trucks had the 4.8 and the fully loaded trucks had the 5.3..there was a few fully loaded trucks with 4,8 but it wasnt common..i just got stuck with one of those 4.8 unfortunetly..but honestly, i dont know why i just didnt start with a 6.0 swap from the beginning. this will be the best upgrade ive done to the truck.

but yes, the 4.8 loves boost. and id seriously put money down on a 4.8 to make more power on boost then a 5.3 or 6.0. everything about the 4.8 is perfict for boost. im just looking for decent horse power N/A build for now...but boost later.
