My loaded rcsb 2005 had a 4.8, I knew it was coming out so I was good with it.

Yeah, on the rcsb from what I have found 70% are v6's, 15% 4.8 and 15% 5.3. When I was looking for my last one I finally just decided to get any v8 I could find, and happened to find one with a 5.3. Going NA you will love the 6.0, I swapped an lq4 milled the 317's and put a decent cam in and got 392 to the wheels but that was through a T56. Best of luck, you will love it I'm sure.

time for a update i suppose...have the engine tore down to bear block. found that all the main bearings had damage. crank was chewed up a bit so i ran it over to the machine shop this morning..the guy at the shop pointed out that the thrust bearings dug into the crank so bad that ill need a new crank..luckly he has a crank he said he'd clean up for me and sell to me for the price he told me he'd machine mine for. should be getting it tomarrow. and hopefully have the bottom end put back in this weekend.

decided i would go ahead and have the engine hot tanked so i can put a fresh coat of paint on it. also getting it honed and cam bearings put in. should have the engine, crank and bearings next weekend. then everything can finally start getting reassembled. getting steps closer to getting this rig on the road!!

Damn, I was hoping you were going to go ahead and throw a 4" in there when you said the crank was chewed up
THEN you'd be talking about how that's the best mod you did and how happy you were that the crank was messed, lol.

lol. i got a dead line for this truck and $800 for a crank or $800 to get this engine back together and in, ill have to go with getting it back in, of course with this being said, i plan on running this engine for a couple years while i totally built another engine. its not that im rushing it or building it cheap, its just a budget build for now so i can get it on the road and done before ls fest in bowling green. but yes stroker engine will be in the works
