Well, it seems I finally got the lowering kit sorted out. Had to remove the transmission mount spacer, add a 4* pinion shim and shorten the driveshaft 1.5".

I didn't realize I was going to be a guinea pig for a new product.

Anyway, on to next things...shocks.

I spoke with Jake from Vi-king shocks today. He was very helpful. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to run into the same issue I had with the QA1 shocks; the bushing won't fit the factory bolt.

So I'm going to go to Home Depot and grab a bushing (3/4" OD x 1/2" ID) and cut it length-wise and see if that will work. That looks like what they do with the factory shocks.

If that won't work, I'll cut off the top mounted shock nut and just use true 1/2" dia bolts.

I had no problem putting the QA1 or Viking on with the factory bolts and yes the top nut is welded to the bracket on the truck. Just make sure you get the Poly bushing.

Do you have a part number for that ploy bushing? That's what I can't seem to find to make this work.

Air shocks blew out. Belltech SPs are going on until I get the suspension sorted out.

I'll probably move the hangar from the 6" drop to the 5" drop and see if that helps. Otherwise, I'll probably be removing this drop kit.

Mongo not happy.

I did decide on wheels. I got a set of the 2014 Silverado 18" factory wheels (takeoffs). I'm going to have them powder coated dark gray.
Tires will be Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S All-Season Tire - 285/60R18

Got my wheels in today and dropped them off at the powder coater. 2 weeks.

Also got my bracket to mount my spare tire in the bed. I'll be doing that this weekend along with shocks if they come in.
