So after careful consideration and staring at wiring schematics for weeks, I'm going with a factory ECU for now. The XFI is overkill and just too hard to integrate all the factory stuff with. Maybe a Terminator down the road, but I'm ready for this thing to be done and running! So stock ECU with a speed density tune/MAF delete and let it fly.

Got the wheels Ceramic coated and putting the interior back together since we don;t need to wire up all the XFI and additional relays, etc.

 

Boy do I feel dumb. Never thought about ceramic coating on wheels.

Bet that makes them easier to clean.

No problems here on a stock 411PCM with a HPT 2bar SD OS. I would recommend finding a 2001-2002 1MB PCM to use though.

 

Man they are so slick! Should be good for about 2 years too. Gonna help a bunch with brake dust and the occasional rubber chunks lol.

 

Good idea! What are the chances you've got a GM number or lead on one, with your infinite wisdom! Haha.

 

2001-2002 411 PCM are 512KB. Blue and Red connectors
2003-07 Classic PCM's are 1MB. Blue and Green Connectors

 

Apparently my recollection failed me. I thought the upgrade in 2001 to the 12200411 PCM included a memory increase. There were improvements for the 2001-2002 trucks in that they respond better to knock input (less false knock) and full electric fan control. Also not certain that a 2barSD OS upgrade is available for the early truck OS.

 

Eh, it's all good. My tuner says he can knock it out with the 411 ecu and the aftermarket fan harness. So we should be good. At least the 411's aren't hard to find.
