Canada Eh??

Spent a few hours today measuring out and cutting up some brand new MSD plug wires that go around the manifold. I'm already sick of turbo stuff and anything to do with the spark plugs... The truck does run significantly better though, so I'm happy. It cruises like it should and goes real fast when you mash the pedal. It'll light off the 22s at the top of 3rd gear :O.
I also made a little intercooler surge tank, just enough to get the pump primed. Got some welding practise in to. I doubt the intercooler was doing much when the dyno pulls were happening, it was down almost a gallon of coolant.

Still need to find some 1/4" heater hose to connect the actual surge tank to the radiator... Thats this weeks activities.

I'm also already sick of this "name brand" high performance crap.
One channel of my Innovative wide band already took a dump (not the sensor or calibration, did a sensor swap with 3 different ones and all of them work on the other channel), and my vibrant air filter melted to the turbo. Looks like I'm into warranty claims.
Name brand stuff that doesn't deserve a 2nd look if it wasn't for the sunk cost.

Its like the combo of heat and the clamp pressure made it go blaaahhhhh out the sides everywhere. Its touted as a tight space air filter, so I'm not sure what I did mega wrong for that to happen.

I also decided to get serious about the PCV system.... and delete it.
Another amazon special. $22 I think hahah. It doesn't have a baffle in it but thats ok, I can make something up that'll do the trick. I also saw stories of people buying expensive catch cans and still having to cut them open to make them work. The best thing about this one is that it has a removable top and bottom so you can do with it whatever you like inside. It seems like the case is an extrusion, and the top and bottom are some form of billet. Ill probably feed the 2 ports that are on it from each of the valve covers, and then drill a new vent right out the top of it that will feed back into the turbo. I also need to find out how guys are deleting the actual check valve that is in the drivers side valve cover at the back.

So vibrant was bad *** with sending a replacement. Innovative, not so much. Send it in, hope for the best, in the mean time theres a hole in my A pilar.
Always went down to point roberts and picked this up, more of an excuse to go get something else cool but its not Canada rated

hopefully this keeps the boost inline, its the same as I already have just a multiple. They come with 2 springs in them, supposedly 7psi a piece. If they can do their job properly ill probably end up with the 14psi combo in both of them.

holy hahaha looks like its been awhile since I've updated this.
Quite the nostalgia trip going back through all this.... Anyways, this money pit was not forgotten about to say the least.
Ill try and fill in everything that happened in the last year. So i ended up moving from BC back to 'berta to follow the dirty oil money. My dad came out at the end of May 2017 with a trailer to give this thing a ride back. Day before we leave I take him out for his first rip in this thing.
Que stupidity.
Merge onto the transcanada in the heart of burnaby. Roast the first 2 gears on the on ramp, limiter banging, gsxr 600 (maybe older 750?) hears said fun and rolls up beside me shortly after.... so here we are waiting for a straight section of road. I drop down into 3rd and light into it, was a dead even race until i blew the tires off at the top of 3rd. Turns out the road wasn't quite straight and here I am drifting at ~60mph in traffic. looking back on it, could have gone very bad. Anyways I stayed into it when the tires left and hit the limiter a bunch of times hahaha sounded wicked.
Truck had a missfire and was pulling all its timing, turns out it closed the spark plug gap on the #7 cylinder
