Ok, the side between the adapter and the tcase had a paper gasket. I used some red rvt on the case halfs.

I went and got the GM autotrack blue fluid for the tcase. Got everything buttoned up, the rear drive shaft shortened 2". Started it up and filled the transmission up with fluid and moved it out of the garage, and drove it down the street a bit just to make sure it was good. Still need to update the tune before I can drive it.

I am getting ready to do this swap also, plan to tear my 80 apart this weekend. Keep us posted once you actually get a chance to drive it.

I drove it to my wife's parents place yesterday. About 30 miles mostly interstate. Runs very strong. The shifts feel very soft. I'm still working on the tune. My wide and sensor got damaged while it was out so I had to order a new one. Should be here on Monday. So far I have it shifting around 6000 and see 7 psi in first and 10 psi in 2nd. The new intercooler is working great at wot keeping the temps about 30* over ambient. My meth tank should be here today so I'm going to start getting that ready. I'm thinking 700hp shouldn't be an issue and maybe a high 11 second run at the track is possible

Which intercooler did you upgrade to? Did I miss the post?

Looking good Andy!

its a ebay 27x8x4 and I upgraded to a 4" intake tube. I ditched the stock MAF and wired in a aftermarket IAT sensor.

No man, I found it in my glovebox actually. I guess you had given it back to me already.
