Yep they are push rod engines. The rods are quite a bit longer than the LS motors.

Here's one side with the rockers removed

Head gaskets were bad...they were leaking and pressurizing the cooling system. It spit some coolant out the overflow, and when I opened the cap a shitload of it came gushing out. LLYs are notorious for bad head gaskets.

Got one cleaned up! Almost done with the second one too. Downpipe and gauges will be here tomorrow. Gauge pod, new gaskets, LML exhaust manifold, and LBZ mouthpiece will be here Thurs. Going to take the passenger side up pipe and one of the intake pieces in to have bungs welded on them for EGT and boost gauges as soon as I get the gauges in.

Thinking about it! I kind of like this whole "be patient and take your time" kind of thing, rather than my typical get it done as fast as possible mentality. It seems to work out better

Want to come build a trans with me if/when I get my annual bonus in Feb next year?

BTW, the truck started puking coolant right afer you left last time. I'm sure this is somehow your fault.

Must be the "good buddy" deal you always talk about

Today was parts day! Got visits from the brown truck and the green/purple truck....my favorite kind of day

I got one head reassembled and bolted back down, downpipe installed, and passenger exhaust parts all buttoned up.
