Ya if I had my own shop and a 1/4 of the knowledge Roger has I might consider rolling the dice more but being down a truck is no fun and then having to have someone else fix it for you adds up.
I just cleared my yard this last time home. I have room for a shop now just need to figure out how to make it happen. I want my own lift bad. Even if it is just for oil changes and simple maintenance

Haven't looked into lifts yet. I could make one work in my garage now but I want a tall ceiling and a lift that I can get the truck over my head. I am 6'3" I don't want to be ducking and crouching the entire time under it

Well guys, I figured I'd throw an update on here.
The first startup vid you saw on Friday was right at closing time. Ran it through one heat cycle, it idled good for about 10 minutes, and was shut off once it came up to normal temp. So we closed up for the weekend.
Came back in Monday (yesterday), fired the truck up to move it out of the workbay, and the thing started knocking. Sounded like bottom end to me, but the oil pressure was good. I think we let it run for about a minute while we were deciding top or bottom end.....
Pulled the rocker covers, no problems there. So we pulled the engine and tore it down. Found out the hard way, NEVER TRUST AN INTAKE MANIFOLD OFF A BLOWN UP ENGINE. Even though we looked into all the ports, and shook it, to check for debris, it obviously had some pieces of broken ring & piston in it.
Two pistons and one cylinder head are damaged. Called ***** at RaceTec, and he's expediting 2 new pistons for me, and my local dealer has a new head, head gaskets, and a new intake manifold on the way.
And yes, Andy was "in the loop" throughout the day yesterday.

It's a bummer but it's something that could happen to anyone. I am bummed a little it's going to set us back a little but I am also humbled and reassured I am glad I took it to Roger. Things can happen and it means a lot personally to me for someone to step up and make everything right. I know of other shops that I am not sure I would have gotten the same response or treatment.
Not sure on turn around time. I have other vehicles to drive till the truck is done.
