Default '99 Z71 Daily Driver

Well its been the better part of a year since I joined the forum, and this is my first actual started thread (other than the intro). Just moved to TX from southern California 3 weeks ago. Figured I would take the time and start a build thread finally on both my trucks. I will start with this one and I will only post some of the pictures, unless someone wants to see something specific.

Specs:

'99 GMC Sierra Z71
5.3/4L60E (with MagHytec pan) w/ 155k miles
10 bolt w/ factory 3:73 (Magytec cover)
cranked torsions, long travel shackles, Bilsteins all around
285/75R16 Falken Wildpeaks, 16" Ultras powdercoated black
Nelson Performance tune, AEM intake, 3" Magnaflow muffler
LEDs inside courtesy lights, LEDs everywhere outside (except cargo lamp), HID hi/low mod, 03+ tails
limo tint all around
Alpine head unit

What shackles are you using? Did you do a shackle flip or what?

The guy that built my '97 (Dirt Designs) built them. they are considered a "long travel" shackle to help with long travel leaf springs. I am still undecided on what I am going to do suspension wise with this truck. But he ran a batch of 3 or 4 sets for me and a couple of friends, so I couldn't pass up the price. I believe they are 7" eye to eye and dropped the rear around 1-1.5"

Thanks!

I ultimately wanted a black one, since my other truck is black, but this color has really grown on me. I will someday color match a lot of stuff to finish getting rid of the chrome.

Is that guy by chance still building those shackles? I need to decrank my torsion bars to fix my alignment issue and these would work perfect for the rear.

You can remove your rear block. I plan on doing it this weekend. It'll drop the truck 1.5-2 inches. Those shackles are nice though...

I am sure he could make you a set. Can also check out Camburg, I am sure they probably have a few sets sitting on the shelf ready to ship.
